Resources

Here is a list of online marketing services and sites that we recommend to all our clients. We use most, if not all, of these sites on a daily basis which is the reason we recommend them. Some make your life easier, some make your marketing easier, and some are just plain necessary for running a business online!

Stella Orange, Wordsmith- a copywriting studio specializing in uncommon websites and other things that make your cash register sing.

1ShoppingCart - my preferred autoresponder/newsletter/shopping cart system

PracticePay Solutions - an affordable merchant account solution that lets you accept credit card payments, and integrates easily with 1ShoppingCart.

Hostgator - affordable and reliable website hosting  with a cPanel to make managing your websites and email easier

WishList Member - Membership site plugin for Wordpress with lots of features. Check out their Micro-Continuity mini-course.

Premium Wordpress ThemesStudioPress and WooThemes are two sites we recommend when clients are looking for a premium Wordpress theme. Both sites offer affordable themes that are well-coded to ensure they work as well as possible on all browsers.

Skype - call anyone in the world on Skype for free, instant message, video conferencing and more.

FreeConferencePro - a free conference call line for hosting teleclasses, conference calls and more. Features include ability to record, preschedule conferences, record custom greeting for callers and more.

Roboform - a password manager that conveniently and safely stores your passwords, so you don’t have to remember them all! If you use Google Chrome, try LastPass, which seems to integrate better with Chrome than RoboForm.

DropBox - online file storage, file synching (no more emailing files to yourself when moving from your desktop to your laptop!) and file sharing.

Mozy - Automatic online hard drive backup service. Very affordable, and gives you peace of mind that you won’t lose anything important (like products, client files, family photos, etc.) if your hard drive ever crashes, or you simply run out of space.

GimpShop - a free, open-source alternative to Photoshop. Great if you want to be able to create your own graphics, headers, buttons, logos, etc.

Kompozer- a free, open-source alternative to Dreamweaver. Great if you want to be able to edit your own web pages or create sales or landing pages for new products or services.

BoxShot3d – a fantastic program that takes flat graphics and turns them into 3d ebook covers, CD or DVD covers, 3d brochures and lots more. I have an older version of this program, and they just launched a new version with tons of new graphics to use.

TransparentPlayer - a very cool tool that puts YOU on your website, talking directly to your visitors.

Note: we are affiliates for some of these products, and may earn money for referrals. However, we only recommend tools we ourselves use, or have used for clients. We won’t recommend ANYthing we haven’t tested! :)
